Kanye West Returns With “Power” (Listen & Download)

Since Kanye and his people so far refuse to talk about the new Yeezy track "Power" that popped up today we don't know if this is an official release, a leak or part of an elaborate and mysterious revenge plot by Taylor Swift, but however "Power" got here, it's here, and it sounds pretty damn fresh. Even though everything Kanye's touched professionally is a smash, the aforementioned Ms. Swift makes "Power" a bit of a comeback track for Kanye, and lyrically the always bristly rapper has an oversized chip on his shoulder. "Fuck SNL and the whole cast, tell em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass, more specifically they can kiss my asshole, I'm an asshole?" Looks like someone still doesn't know how to take a joke (Fish dicks anyone?)

Having apparently had his addiction to emo rap and autone cured, "Power" features a sharply clapping beat from beatsmith Symbolyc One (S1) that flips King Crimson's "21st Century Schizoid Man" into a hip-hop banger, and also brings in Dwele (he of "Flashing Lights" fame) on the hook. To summarize, "Power" is an angry, adventurous and ambitious track, exactly what we've come to expect. It's also the first we've heard off his upcoming "Good Ass Job" album, set to drop whenever Amber Rose runs out of shopping spree cash.
