Just for Kicks: The Most Expensive Sneakers

Posted by Danielle Harling on 04/19/10 | Filed under Top Stories, Features, Sneakers
Whether you’re browsing your local sneaker boutique or checking out the latest sneaker blog you’re bound to come across that select pair of kicks whose price tag is more than a little overwhelming. RefinedHype.com scoured the net for the priciest of sneakers, and what we came up with will make even the biggest of sneaker-heads flinch.

Nike Air Force One “So Cals” - $50,000
So Cals

Presented to rapper Big Boi by Atlanta sneaker boutique Laced Up the “So Cals” feature your choice of yellow, white, or blue diamonds and silver and gold. They’re hot and all but can you imagine the paranoia that comes with rocking a pair of $50,000 sneakers?

Dunk Hi “Gucci” - $2,500

So, apparently if you throw the signature Gucci colors on a product it gives you the right to charge anything. Definitely good to know.

Dunk High Premium “Nagoya” - $900

At least with this pair of high-priced kicks you might actually look a little grandiose. And the abundance of gold on this pair of Dunks definitely adds to its richness.

Air Yeezy - $800
Air Yeezy

Created by rapper and fashion connoisseur Kanye West, the Air Yeezys were one of the most sought-after pairs of kicks in the world when they were released. The buzz has of course died down since the launch of the Air Yeezy’s although they’re still being sold for a few hundreds.

With the exception of the “So Cals,” all of the above sneakers can be found at FlightClubNY.com.

They got kids in China working for pennies so we can have our fresh kicks as status symbols.

I'd much rather get a pair of Starbury's for $15. Stephon Marbury may be a d-bag, but he's got it right..Endorsing clothes and shoes that are fashionable AND affordable. Tony Romo too. He's hooked up with Starter (although not a d-bag lol). Diamond encrusted shoes? Ridiculous markup at the expense of someone in the third world? No thanks.
