JMSN Is Giving Frank Ocean & The Weeknd A Run For Their Money On “Alone” (Listen & Download) Posted by Danielle Harling on 10/25/11 | Filed under Top Stories, Downloads, Videos, JMSN

With the recent popularity of artists like The Weeknd, Frank Ocean, and other emerging artists it's really starting to feel like there's a whole new genre of music being created. I'm not quite sure what you'd call this particular genre but I'm thinking something along the lines of emo-electro pop R&B, give or take a few descriptive words. And it looks like we can add Detroit singer/producer JMSN to this growing list of artists.

On his latest track "Alone" JMSN dwells on just that, being alone. Throughout the song JMSN moodily maneuvers his way between an almost conversational tone to an impressive falsetto. Not only does JMSN pull double-duty with his vocal range on "Alone" but he also produced the song as well. The production sounds very similar to some of The Weeknd's work, but regardless of that it still sounds pretty good and I'm sure JMSN has a lot more crafty production up his sleeves.
