Goddamn !llmind Killed the Production on Jared Evan’s “It’s Over” (Listen & Download)

Speaking of incredible production, check out this shit !llmind laid down for Jared Evan's "It's Over". To be sure, Evan put in a solid performance on the mic, the dude can legitimately rhyme, but !llmind's work here almost has me in the mood to do a Production Breakdown. In fact, that's exactly what I'll do:

First off, that sample's from '70s UK rock group and renowned white boy fro enthusiasts Electric Light Orchestra's "It's Over", not exactly your typical sample source.



Second, I can also hear what sounds like that same echoed, background vocal sample that Kanye likes to use so much on "MBDTF". One million and a half bonus points to anyone who knows where that's from, or if it's the same one Ye uses. And last but not least, layering in some live horns from Gustav Steinman (aka "The Goose") on the outro instrumental was a dope finishing touch.

So to summarize, !llmind used an obscure rock sample, hip-hop percussion and live instrumentation on one beat, a combination which we frankly have to salute.

Keep an ear out for Jared Evan's "The 4th Chapter" album, coming soonish and hopefully featuring more ill !llmind production.
