J. Cole Wants To Know “How High” (Listen & Download)

On J. Cole's latest release "How High" the North Carolina rapper kicks off the song with his own personal rendition of "What's Love Got To Do With It" and I think the song could have done without. What's singing about love got to do with a song that's primarily about getting high?

Aside from the iffy "What's Love Got To Do With It' singing at the beginning and end of the song the hook to "How High" is actually pretty catchy. And Cole of course doesn't let this track pass him by without some bragging here and there: "Is that a shot that you threw little man, I understand/ You frustrated, career ain't going how you planned/ Make it worse your friends now when they talk rap all you hear is 'J. Cole this, J. Cole that.'" At this point I'm kind of used to hearing J. Cole rap about how good of a rapper he is. And since he is an above average rapper I can't complain too much.

Production on "How High" was on point, it seemed to fit the song pretty well. It's laid-back, a nice nod-your-head-to-it beat.
