RefinedHype will be taking a break to spend some quality times with out families this holiday season, but don't worry, we would never leave you without some presents in your proverbial stocking. So while you sip on egg nog and prepare to be buried in wrapping paper, here are some hip-hop holiday presents to help keep you warm during December. The definitive hip-hop Christmas carol. On a side note, I'm pretty sure the Naughty/Nice controller in the beginning is a modified Simon Says game. My 80s babies know what I'm talking about.
Kurtis Blow "Christmas Rapping"
Another old school classic. I hope Curtis got a new suit for Christmas...not that there's anything wrong with the one he's wearing.
Lupe Fiasco Battles Lebron and Kobe
Lupe joins Nike's puppet commercial as Blitzen the reindeer and promptly proceeds to battle rap Santa, Kobe and Lebron. The crazy thing is, this is actually a sick flow from Lupe.
Tha Dogg Pound "I Wish"
Did you know Death Row made a compilation album called "Christmas on Death Row"? Well pour some Hennessey into your egg nog and enjoy.
R. Kelly "World Christmas"
Little known fact: The original title of this song was "World Christmas...Now Open Up Your Mouth Girl". It was edited for obvious reasons.
B2K "Why'd You Leave Me on Christmas"
Remember that South Park episode where Cartman figured out you could make any song into a Christian rock anthem by inserting the word "Jesus". B2K takes a similar approach on this one, doing a classic teen r&b jam and then randomly inserting "on Christmas" into the chorus so they could include it on their Christmas album. Also, far be it for me to get involved with another man's relationship, but Omarion, I'm pretty sure she left you cause you were apparently f**king some girl named Shante. Frankly leaving you sounds reasonable.
Jim Jones "Christmas Time"
Jim Jones put out an album called "A Dipset Christmas". You can't make this shit up. Hope you're "living fast and ballin this Christmas time" too.
