Tomorrow’s Halloween, and you know what that means: sugar, skeletons and girls dressed up in slutty costumes (you know, slutty nurse, slutty cat, slutty Barbie). In celebration of the year’s most frightening night, here’s RefinedHype’s list of the most hip-hop most horror-filled videos. See more…
Ghost Stories w/ Ghostface Killah (from Jimmy Kimmel Live)
The video that started me thinking about this entire theme, there’s nothing better than Ghostface reading a horror story, especially when it’s about doing a show in Vermont with midget Kiss. Plus, that book’s unnecessarily large.
Busta Rhymes “Woo Hah!! Remix”
This video may not be technically horrific, but this video definitely always kind of creeps me out, especially with the always frantic Busta covered in that weird silver paint. The original was pretty damn weird, but add in Ol’ Dirty Bastard and things really start getting insane. In fact, I think I feel the ghost of Roll Fizzlebeef over my shoulder now.
Eminem “3 AM”
An absolute classic, this is one of hip-hop’s most terrifying videos ever. Not only is this a legitimately dope track, but it always scares the bejeezus out of me, especially with the addition of Ill Bill, the group’s dwarf rapper who had his eye shot out in real life. You can’t make this ish up. Plus it’s the only video here to explicitly mention Halloween, even if the reference mostly involves the Geto Boys stealing candy from little kids. Good times.
Michael Jackson “Thriller”
Ok, so it may not be technically “hip-hop” but there’s no way I could run this list without “Thriller”, the video that launched a thousand Halloween costumes. Honestly, there’s nothing more I can say that the video doesn’t say better. Enjoy, and Happy Halloween.
