Goddamn, It’s Really Been a Year Since Guru Died? (Tribute Video & Download)

Most sites wouldn't be this honest with their readers, but I feel like we're family. On the real the homey DJ Z is down for the count today, which means I'm running the mothership by my lonesome, which means I just don't have the time to give you the full slate of RefinedHype dopeness you deserve. But aside from some booty, I just couldn't let today go without honoring Guru, the street rap legend and Gang Starr founder who passed away one-year ago today.

As a small means of honoring the man responsible for creating some of the illest rap to ever come out of the east coast, as well as one of the new truly legendary cats to ever come out of my hometown of Boston, I've posted one of my favorite and most overlooked Gang Starr songs of all time below, "Dwyck", along with a brand new Guru collab with Craig G, "Coming For You" that just leaked today.

Enjoy, and be sure to share your favorite Guru//Gang Starr joints in the comments below. R.I.P.
