Esso Pays Tribute to “New York New York” (Listen & Download)

The last time we saw Esso he was enjoying the "View From the Top", and the young east coaster is back on top of our pages today with an open letter to his home town of "New York New York". Built on a stalking, hypnotic beat from producer Rena1ssance, "New York New York" is an intensely driven cut featuring rhymes from Esso that are, like the place he's from, by turns aggressive, eclectic and fresh. There's no city in the world like NY, and there's no rapper like Esso either.

The track is the first single off Esso's upcoming album "The Anti-Socialite", due to drop on April 26. Keep it locked for more, including a "New York New York" video directed by Puma coming soon.

Oh, and as long as we're on the subject. I'd like to give a special shout out to that NYPD transit cop who gave me a bullshit ticket while I was riding the Q. That shit got overturned motherfucker!
