To say that Decatur, Georgia rapper B.o.B has come a long way since the release of his first few mixtapes would be a tremendous understatement. The kid’s only 22 and already has a debut album that garnered hit after hit. On top of the success from his album, The Adventures Of Bobby Ray, B.o.B has also managed to represent brands like Adidas and HP. Umm…cha ching?
Just to show you what a difference a few years makes check out this MTV News video from 2008 featuring B.o.B speaking on what was at the time his most recent project, Hi My Name Is B.o.B.
Sponsored by LRG, Hi My Name Is B.o.B featured the tracks “Haterz Everywhere,” “Lonely People,” “One Day” and about 30 other tracks and skits. I had no idea it would take close to three years, but it looks like a DJ-free version of “One Day” has emerged.
Take a listen below and then I want you to honestly answer this question: could you have seen B.o.B.'s success coming? If you were an A&R at Atlantic and heard "One Day", would you have had to sign the man? Don't front, honest answers only.
