What’s Dame Dash Gotta Do to Get Some Love?

Dame Dash
I read a lot other blogs mostly due to how I write these (fuckin’ dope) editorials. I need to keep up on my competition (but do I really have any? I mean come on. Your mother loves my editorials).

A common consensus I have seen in the blog world and through comments and whatnot (which means all of this is unofficial of course), is 95% of Hip Hop apparently seems to HATE Dame Dash. Why though?

Every time I read something that has anything to do with Dame, it is always speaking sly at how little money he SUPPOSEDLY has (yes his previous financial woes were very publicized…but lately we have yet to hear anything about those mishaps.), or how the new Roca-Fella is going to fail, or how Curren$y wearing the Roc chain is shittin’ on Jay’s legacy.

Basically, the blogs are force feeding me that Dame Dash is the bad guy. Now I respect Jay Z for everything he has done for Hip Hop and millions of other people do too…but have we forgotten that Dame had a huge hand in all of that?

I feel people have found every reason they can to dislike the dude and the clever and creative things he is doing over at Creative Control and DD172. Instead of worrying about how much money the man has…let’s worry about the product.

Maybe the majority of other people do not have the same eyes that I do, but Creative Control is a daily visit for me. The presentation is clean and the videos are put together very well. The Black Roc project was fuckin’ awesome, Curren$y’s buzz is at an all time high, and he just signed popular Jamaican artist Sizzla. The Diplomats, believe it or not, still have a fan base. Yes…people listen to Hip Hop beyond the blogs.

He seems to be doing very well for himself. Yet the majority of the internets continue to find ways to degrade the performance he is putting up.

In my opinion…that is what hate truly is.

More and more people are wishing for Dame to fail instead of recognizing what he is doing. Can’t you see that this man truly believes in what he is doing? He is passionate with it and is covering all of the bases. (‘cept I do not know what is going on with Universal having the rights to the Roc…but there has not been any legal firestorm to hit the internets yet…so it is probably working out just fine). The man was down and we kicked him…now as he is trying to get back up we continue to kick and spit at him even more.

Are we so clouded by Jay Z’s post Dame Dash success to write off his former right hand man? SMH.

It's called the "Jay-Z Blackball Effect" and artists like Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Young Gunz, Sha Stimuli, etc. have all faced it.

@RevOfEMS Word, Jay is the Steve Jobs of the rap game. If he wants you gone, you're gone. Yeah that was a nerdy ass reference. What?
