Aleon Craft Abducts Bobby Creek for “The Off Spring” (Listen/Download)

OK, OK, to be perfectly clear, Atlanta/outer-space dual representative Aleon Craft did not literally kidnap Bobby Creekwater to get him to contribute a verse to mixtape track "The Off Spring." And he certainly doesn't have the ex-Shady emcee strapped to a table in his flying saucer, as he and his fellow extraterrestrials perform crazy science experiments on his brain. Not to my knowledge, anyway.

In actuality, "The Offspring" is a little more down-to-earth than "Spaced Out," the very aptly-named cut that made its world premiere over at DJBooth.net last night. Not that that's a bad thing – the subdued, soul-sampled beat (courtesy of Sol Messiah) lets Aleon and Creek's mic skills take center stage. And if you're into weird-sounding stuff, you should get a kick out of the robot-helium voice, which makes its return on the record's chorus. Anyway, those digging Aleon's out-of-this-world brand of hip-hop can hear more on The Pursuit (Vol. 2) when it hits the 'net next Monday, April 19.
