Because I F**King Want To….Action Bronson’s “Ronnie Coleman” (Listen)

I know as an interwebs rappity rap blogger I'm supposed to be constantly posting the new hot shit - after all, these days a song's old four hours after it first leaked - but sometimes I need to step off the digital hamster wheel and just go back to some dope hip-hop that came out before yesterday. So in that spirit, here's Action Bronson's "Ronnie Coleman" because I fucking want to.

"Ronnie Coleman" was the track that took me from "this dude's interesting" to "damn, I'm going to listen to everything Action Bronson does". "Coleman" incorporates everything I dig about Bronson in one track: the subject matter's hilarious - who else is talking about overeating? - but even amongst the beef rib references the man still works in prostitutes, drugs and cash.

Straight up, the second verse on this is one the most enjoyable verses I've ever heard, period. Here's what completely fucking sold me on Bronson:



"From Philly cheesesteaks, lobsters on the barbeque
I’m getting twisted eating chicken with a prostitute
An hour later eat the burger with my drug dealer
Then add the butter to the fudge to make the fudge realer
