It's hard to believe that it was nearly a decade ago when noted producer 9th Wonder met with Jay-Z and crafted the beat for the rapper's "The Black Album" record "Threat." And in a recent Life & Times' "Decoded" segment, the Carolina beatsmith spoke on what went into creating the "Threat" beat in what's easily one of the series' most interesting interviews.

Also, with past "Decoded" segments that include breakdowns of Juicy J's "Bandz A Make Her Dance" and Waka Flocka's "O, Let's Do It," this interview with 9th Wonder is a much needed breath of fresh air.
